IIT-BHU was formally Institute of
Technology under the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) which is a public central
university. IIT-BHU is established in 2012 from IT-BHU.

position in India in NIRF Ranking 2020 under the Engineering category. IIT-
BHUs School of Biochemical Engineering department also offers many
Biotechnology engineering courses.
