NTA NEET UG Exam Pattern

The NEET exam has four subjects' objective-type question papers. Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany are the four major subjects of the NEET exam. Each subject has two sections, section A has 35 questions and section B has 15 questions. Students have to do only any 10 questions from Section B. But Section A all questions are compulsory there is no option. 

There are no theoretical short or long answer type questions in the exam. All questions of the NEET-UG Exam have 200 MCQ-Multiple Choice Questions that have four options. You have to select the correct option only. Physics has 50 questions, Chemistry has 50 questions, Botany has 50 questions and Zoology has also 50 questions. Out of the four subjects, Biology has maximum questions. Zoology and Botany, each has 50 questions so a total of 100 questions will come from the Biology subject.

You will get 3 hours for solving 180 questions. So there is one minute for each question. Exam mode is offline, you will get an OMR sheet for marking the correct option with the pencil.

Subject wise Questions and Marks Distribution Pattern of NEET-UG Exam

Out of 200 MCQs of total questions, you have to do 180 total questions of 720 marks. You have to do 45 questions from each subject. You have to do 45 questions from Botany and 45 questions from Zoology. So a total of 90 questions will come from the Biology subject.

All these 90 questions carry 360 marks which are 50% of the total marks 720 marks of the NEET exam so the Biology section of the NEET exam is very important for gaining a good rank in the NEET exam. All questions are based on the CBSE, NCERT 11th and 12th Biology book.

Every question has 4 marks. So for the correct answer, you will get four marks. For every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted from your total marks.
